Ina Garten is an American author of cookery books as well as Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's longest-running program Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 has 27 seasons until 2020. Ina began her career by working for the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy reports. Although she initially found it intellectually stimulating she eventually lost interest. So she purchased an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food retailer. The store was very successful over the course of 18 years until she decided to sell it. She then began the first book. Several other books and magazines followed. Her Food Network television program also was launched and soon became a hit. Also, Ina sells products that range from food items to storage containers and tools. Ina never went to any cookery schools nor worked at a restaurant. Her education is completely self-taught. Ina is well-known as a simple cook and for her entertaining style.
